Our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Program is one
of the industry’s most effective tools for JIT delivery. 
It can dramatically reduce purchasing and re-supply
costs, eliminate stock-outs, and allow customers to be
more efficient and profitable by not tie-ing up cash in
excess inventory. And, it’s flexible. 

Customers typically place blanket orders covering their
requirements for the next 24-30 months, with release
dates specified for each live part in the program.  New
and change orders are placed electronically, either
weekly, or bi-weekly, based on activity, saving paper
and time.  VB&H’s bar coding system provides greatest
control over the assembly of orders, and quality monitoring. 

The greatest challenges for vendor-managed inventory are
hydraulic hose assemblies, due to the range of pressures,
sizes, and materials, as well as the varieties of fittings and
flanges.  For OE customers, VB&H often supplies these
assemblies in kitted form to preclude the need to manage
individual parts.  Our vendor-managed inventory program is
an excellent, “lean” alternative for buyers of these products.  

3rd Party Logistics Management

Another aspect of vendor managed inventory is our
3rd party logistics management capability.  Typically,
a user of a metal part wants to buy components off-shore,
but finds that container minimums and waiting times
erase any potential cost advantage.  By consolidating
the requirements of several projects or companies,
VB&H allows customers to benefit from the reduced
component pricing of the offshore manufacturer,
without the downside difficulties – and risks.

Kitted Hydraulic Hoses

VB&H kitted hydraulic hoses help control the cost
of ordering and managing a large hose inventory.
They also reduce material handling, and the cost of
dunnage – important considerations for many customers
today. VB&H kitted hydraulic hoses are offered in a broad
range of sizes and configurations custom to the user.
Kitted hoses have unique, individual product codes.
Minimal reserve stocks of critical hoses are maintained
for emergency situations.
